I'm an avid tennis player and I recently started going the Transformation Wellness Center to use the Gyrotonic method to help me with my mobility and flexibility. I have found Ryoko to be extremely knowledgeable and she has really helped me improve my flexibility, mobility, and core strength. I feel it has really helped my tennis and the quality of my life as well. I highly recommend the Transformation Wellness Center. Ryoko is patient and knows what types of exercises I need to focus on.

The Transformation Wellness Center that is run by Ryoko, has done exactly that - transformed my wellness! i have known Ryoko for 25 years and I have trained with her from the very beginning. She is an EXCEPTIONAL instructor who is truly and wholeheartedly concerned about helping the well-being and health of others. I would say it is one of her missions in life. Having lupus for over 15 years and being with her from the beginning of that journey – I can testify that without "Gyrotonic" I would not be moving and most likely be miserably uncomfortable in my body. I am 53 years old and I am able to move freely, stay active with my adult children and I am now able to keep up with my 3 very, very active toddler grandsons, along with carry them with NO PAIN! With all things in life, you get out what you put it in, you also get what you pay for! For me and my life with my family, it is priceless and imperative that I never stay stagnant- I want to keep going FOREVER! Ryoko is a KEY COMPONENT of that mission!!!

Love love Gyrotonic exercise and Ryoko! I was looking for a personal trainer, but did not want to do the typical work out. I was never the type to be able to commit to any fitness centers or work out of any kind except for some home training. I randomly came across watching someone on YouTube doing a Gyrotonic work out, and I just knew it was what I needed in my life. Kept searching and searching, and found Ryoko was conveniently located close to my home. It’s already been over a year, and I do not have any plans of stopping my sessions with her. Ryoko is a wonderful instructor, super patient, and detailed (she will not rest until you are in THE perfect position.) I am so happy I took up Gyrotonic exercise, I always look forward to my twice weekly sessions. It has really helped my body stay fit, strengthened my posture, and strengthened my core. To me,"Gyrotonic exercise feels better than a massage. The whole work out really works you from the inside out, releasing all the built up tensions in your muscles. I am so grateful that I found Ryoko and Gyrotonic exercise!
Ryoko Gibson has been instructing me at the Transformation Wellness Center for more than five years. She has a great knowledge of the body and Gyrotonic exercise, Ryoko has a great attitude and is a very good instructor. I have felt this instruction has benefited my joints and muscles and helps me to stay in shape. She challenges me without damaging my body. I'm glad to have found "Gyrotonic" at the Transformation Wellness Center, as its improved my flexibility and overall quality of life. Most of the class is completed while sitting on a stool and stretching, while the remainder of the class involves balance and weight lifting. I used to suffer from low back pain, but since doing the exercises in class and at home that pain has since been relieved. Thanks Ryoko for being such a great teacher.

I have had a most rewarding experience attending the group classes with the Transformation Wellness Center. I was invited by a good friend of mine to attend the classes for the first time about 6 years ago. At that time, I was struggling with depression, an overweight condition, flat feet making regular exercise and walking most difficult! Because of flat feet and no arches, a bone in my left foot fell lower and grew horizontally, causing horrible pain to walk! I wanted to just stay home, and do nothing, because of my discomfort! However, I continued to attend Ryoko’s wice weekly classes. I was slow at first, but gradually found these low-aerobic sessions of stretching, breathing, gyrating my body in circular motion, then reversing my movements helped me to relax and once again move in a no threatening or hurtful manner! Instead, I begin to feel better in every way. I felt more energized, capable and confident that I could do the Gyrokinesis classes by Ryoko Gibson in a safe and gentle way!! I especially liked that we did not get down on the floor, but used a special chair to use with our class exercises. The classes were about 50 -60 minutes. As a result of my success in learning this new exercise form, I told some other friends about these group classes led by Ryoko, a few came and liked her classes, but were too busy to add this to their weekly routine. I still enjoy attending these fun sessions in between having arthritis and inflammation in my left hand and correcting with a skilled surgeon; most recently had a Reverse left Shoulder Total Replacement, which prevents me from attending Ryoko‘s classes until with PT, I can come back to attend this worthwhile exercise again! For me, I have been most grateful to learn about the Gyrokinesis and Gyrotonic methods. For anyone, suffering from chronic issues, I definitely would recommend anyone to contact Transformation Wellness Center in Brea, CA. and get started in a safe and enjoyable environment to exercise in a different way that definitely is so helpful and so worthwhile! Ryoko, is gentle and patient, ALWAYS, with those fist time attendees to make sure they are comfortable, doing only what they can, until they can do more and find comfort in what they are able to do. Thank you, Ryoko for all you‘ve instructed me to do with love and kindness too!

I have been doing the Gyrotonic and Gyrokinesis methods under the instruction of Ryoko once a week for about 8 months. I am thirty six years old. I played competitive sports in high school and have tried to remain active with inconsistent results. I had aches and pains even during the times that I was in shape and healthy. I met Ryoko in September 2015 and was open to trying this new thing she called Gyrotonic and Gyrokinesis methods. Throughout the last several years, I had tried every form of exercises, from circuit training, spinning, Vinyasa yoga, Bikram yoga, boot camp, running. You name I did it; so I thought it was worth a try. To be honest, never thought I would take more than one class. Over 8 months later, I can honestly say that my body has truly "transformed". Under Ryoko's instruction, my muscles have loosened and lengthened and I have increased range of motion. I play soccer and ice hockey and my recovery time is much faster. Ryoko is a smart trainer with a serious background in professional dance. It shows. She has completely redefined how I think about exercise by teaching me that muscles should be loose and not contracted. This is of course, counter to typical thinking of making your muscles as big as possible. Her own personal recovery from years of the rigors of professional dance have empowered Ryoko with the knowledge to understand the body, as well as the causes and effects of having a body that is not performing optimally. Ryoko's years of study, lifestyle and certifications Pilates, Gyrotonic and Gyrokinesis exercises make her an expert in helping anyone learn how to maintain and regain proper mobility. Most importantly, Ryoko herself embodies her own personal philosophy of transformation, not only of the body, but also the mind and soul. Ryoko is the embodiment of her studio, which is truly a Center to be transformed.

I first started Gyrotonic lesson when I was in a slump in my exercise / movement life.  I still loved and believed in everything I was doing (yoga, ballet, Pilates, personal training), and yet, I wanted to dive into something really different.  So I contacted Ryoko to begin Gyrotonic exercise.  Trying Gyrotonic exercise at first really made me feel so uncoordinated - which was good!  Gyrotonic was waking up my body and mind to new feelings, new challenges, new movements outside of all the training I already had.  Now, these many years later, the learning continues, and I love it!   I feel rejuvenated, lighter, taller, stronger, after each session, and I enjoy the sense of accomplishment I get when Ryoko takes me into a new exercise.  She’s a great teacher, with a good sense of what you can really do.  The sessions are never routine.  Ryoko tailors each workout to where you are on that day, what you need, what will be the most beneficial for your body and your mind.  My advice for someone thinking of doing Gyrotonic exercise ?  Do it.  Give yourself the time and space to learn about yourself in a totally new way.  Be patient with the movements and your own ability to execute them.  Then, have fun with how great you feel doing all that you enjoy.
